The Zambia Computer Incident Response Team (ZmCIRT) serves as a central point for collaboration between industry, government and civil society on all Cybersecurity related issues and incidents in Zambia.
ZmCIRTs main tasks are:
• National cyber-security incident management,
• Providing support to companies and institutions providing national critical infrastructure services.
• Conducting activities for promoting and raising awareness on cyber-security at an academic, sectorial and societal level.
• Contacting the cyber incident response teams of other countries to ensure coordination and cooperation.
An important task of ZmCIRT is the sensitization and informing of citizens on the safe use of mobile communication media, information technology and the Internet.
On the website, diverse topics and information relating to IT and In Internet security are provided in such a way that they are also understandable for technical laypeople. In addition to pure information, the ZmCIRT also offers specific and implementable recommendations for action, for example, on topics such as email encryption, smartphone security, online banking, cloud computing or social networks.

If someone is spying on your phone, you may see your device's data usage increase, your phone may unexpectedly reboot or show signs of slowing down. You may also notice activity, such as your device's screen lighting up when it is in standby mode. You may also notice your device's battery life suddenly decreasing. These are just some of the indicators.
Sadly, yes. While it isn’t possible on iOS devices, due to the operating system’s sandboxing security, it is possible for apps to intercept your WhatsApp messages on Android devices. If you think this is happening, search for and uninstall the apps by following the instructions discussed in this article.
As a rule, it is extremely difficult for someone to remotely install phone surveillance software on an iPhone or Android smartphone without having physical access to the device. Some remote spying apps will allow you to track the location of an iPhone, but you’d require the user’s iCloud login and password to enable the tracking of the device. Anything more than that and you’d require physical access
There are no 100% reliable apps that can detect if your phone is being tapped. However, there are apps for the Android platform that do have the capabilities of recording your calls and sending them back to the bad actors that created the app. To check for these apps, check the permissions for all of the installed apps on your device, following the instructions discussed in this article.
As for iPhone users, keep an eye on the indicator at the top of the screen to see if any app is using your microphone surreptitiously.
Whistleblower Edward Snowden said in a 2014 interview that the NSA could listen in to your conversations using the microphone on a smartphone, even if the device is turned off. It does this by using spyware that prevents your smartphone from actually turning off.
The app makes it appear that your device is off, turning off the screen, ignoring incoming calls or button presses, but it is actually still on. Removing the battery from your device is the only way to be sure your device is actually powered down.
The ZmCIRTs primary target group are its constituents, that is, Government Agencies and Critical National Infrastructure Operators. It also targets commercial enterprises, science and research institutions and private users. Who does the ZmCIRT report to?
Society today is heavily dependent on reliable infrastructure. Disruption and failures such as those in energy supply, or other areas of mobility, communication and emergency and rescue services, can cause considerable economic damage and directly affect large parts of the population. These facilities are of major importance for the community and their failure or impairment would result in lasting supply bottlenecks, significant disruptions to public safety or other dramatic consequences, and are referred to as "critical infrastructures" (CI) . Within the CI topic, ZmCIRT is particularly dedicated to IT threats, i.e. the protection of critical information infrastructures.
